People oftentimes ask us if duct cleaning will help their allergies. Our answer is always the same; ‘It won’t hurt!’. The truth of the matter is, when done properly, it won’t hurt or irritate your allergies. Will it help? Our customers and leading allergists say ‘yes’, duct cleaning does help. So why don’t we come out and say; “Air duct cleaning will help your allergies”? Well, because a 10 year old EPA report says it won’t help.
Duct Cleaning Techniques Have Improved Over the Years
Back in 1997 the EPA did a study that really down played the importance of air duct cleaning. We feel this was due in large part to the “duct cleaning scams” that were being reported all across the Philadelphia area as well as the entire US. While the report was very thorough, equipment and duct cleaning techniques have changed. People were running around in mini-vans and station wagons with a portable shop vac, calling themselves air duct cleaners.
Allergists encourage Duct Cleaning
An allergy sufferer doesn’t have to go far to learn the benefits of duct cleaning. A quick trip to the local allergy clinic and they discover that, amongst other things (like mattress cleaning, and freezing pillows, etc), duct cleaning ranks high on the list of allergy cleaning or allergy proofing a house. Most allergy sufferers know there is no silver bullet which will relieve all their symptoms. They understand that duct cleaning is just one part of the cleaning process.
Is Duct Cleaning Right for You?
According to your furnace manufacturer (yes, all of them), your furnace should be cleaned and inspected on an annual basis. If that’s the case, it stands to reason that your air ducts, which supply air to the furnace and heated or cooled air to your home, should be cleaned as well. So, if we take allergies out of the equation, most homeowners understand the benefits of duct cleaning, even if purely from a “heating and cooling maintenance” perspective. For $200 – $300 a qualified Philly air duct cleaning company will thoroughly clean all your air ducts and your furnace. So, what do you have to lose? Schedule to have your ductwork cleaned today. Who knows, your allergies might improve!

Wow, nice information you provide here. I hope that you can elaborate more on the sidebar topic. Because I’ve the same problem with that. So if you can tell me more how to cure it, it would be nice!
Thanks!
Yes you have right said that if u have a asthma then it is one possibility that you will allergies some somethings.
Nice articles!!!
It depends on what you’re allergic to, but most of the time I would say yes.
I definitely think duct cleaning helps allergies. Why wouldn’t it? Anytime that dust is being removed that can contain substances that can cause allergies is a good thing. It can only help. If you don’t duct clean, you definitely have a much larger chance of inhaling those allergens.
You are absolutely, right. I only wish everyone knew this as well as you do.
